2009: A classic white new year

Is not an entry for new year.

I have been weirding myself out for not feeling new year-y since 2007. Reason? Because school starts in August, not January. Simply put, new year is supposed to be the beginning of everything. New pemadam, pensel, school bags, baju sekolah. Even water bottle. Here at RIT, new year happens in the brink of multiple extra-difficult exams. So I pretty much don’t feel the festiveness, really. I however feel thankful that I can experience the way people celebrate this mega-event in the US. I’ve spent the last 2 years rocking MCR and Rascal Flatts at Times Square on 2007; singing to the bands, watching kissing couples,  drunken folks, and, sorry if this disturbs, guys peeing right next to us. On 2008, I watched in awe the marvelous fireworks at Magic Kingdom, Florida. On both year, snow did not fall until late January. This year though, snowstorm hit Rochester on Dec 31st; whitened everything in my horizon. I decided to have a sit-back-and-relax new year celebration rather than standing for 10 hours in crowded places like the previous ones. I spent the eve with a bunch of staying-warm RIT folks; playing RockBand, watching horror/gore movies and playing board games until 3 in the morning. Not a mega one, but the one that I would definitely remember. =) We played Cranium and our team won! Congrats, brainiacs! =P

So on behalf of my other thankful-for-new-year-celebration half, I wish you all a very happy new year. May 2009 brings happiness to every one of you. =)
